Elliott Smith
Elliott Smith, Magician, has entertained Corporations,
Television audiences, and travelers across Canada, Europe, the
Caribbean, and Mexico. Prime Ministers of Canada, International Ambassadors
and even the late Liberace have experienced Elliott's special brand of magic and comedy!
In addition to performing magic as entertainment, Elliott draws on his business and
management background to provide corporate training seminars including team building,
motivational and sales training using magic as a vehicle.
"Having been at this business of entertainment and
entrepreneurship for over 39 successful years, I understand both your desire and your
problemsand I know the solutions.
You may have a wonderful performance, but
if
you don't properly address the business side, your efforts will be painful and
unproductive. The good news is that you don't have to follow that beaten path.
Seeing the need for a business book for entertainers,
Ian and I had an idea to collaborate on a book on how to do what you love and make money.
It took two-and-a-half years, countless hours of meetings, brainstorming, writing,
re-writing, and tweaking. And when we were done, we ripped-it-up some more and tweaked it
again. There were dozens of drafts. The whole idea began with the concept of getting you
to a destination, and creating a roadmap to get you from point "A" to point
"B" success.
I'd like to introduce you to my business
partnerIan Quick, also a Magician. Not so long ago he was a practicing lawyer with a
lifelong dream he could not forget about. I became his mentor, and guided and watched him
as he transformed from an ambitious amateur into a seasoned professional." -

Ian
Quick
Rekindling an old childhood passion, Ian Quick has been
intimately involved with magic since 1992. Over these years Ian has had numerous
performances for private clients as well as some of the largest corporate clients in the
country, including Bell, the Bay, and Compaq to name a few.
Says Ian Quick, "I was ready to show the world my
magic, but what I needed was an audience. I began performing part-time on weekends, all
the while keeping my day job. Many of my peers saw the success I was suddenly having and
began asking me for tips, just as I had asked Elliott a few years before. These were all
competent magicians who could perform great shows, but didn't know where to find an
audience.
One-and-a-half years into writing the book, when we
began editing, I felt I had learned enough from the book and was ready to take the leap
and switch from part-time to full-time. Now I make a better living than I did as a lawyer,
and I love what I do!" Ian Quick, Magician
